Hopeful

I am still that little girl
Who asks her father to buy her a box of chocolate
Or bag full of candies,
Waits for him the whole day
But ends up feeling hurt
When her father finally gets home at night
And tells her “I forgot to buy you candies.”

I still hope and wait
Like that little girl who still asks her father
The next morning and hopes
He doesn’t forget it this time.
